Bottom Quick Settings - FAQ

Q

This is related to the device you are using and isn't an issue with the app. Make sure battery optimisations for the app are disabled.

Please go to this website and run through the steps to keep apps alive for your device: https://dontkillmyapp.com

Q

If a toast message is appearing saying that an app is blocking the dialog, make sure you disable the Draw Overlay permissions for all apps before enabling the Accessibility Service.

If you cant see the app in the list, tap 'More downloaded services' or similar.

Otherwise, try restarting your device.

Q

If you are using MIUI, make sure the "Display pop-up while in background" permission is granted. You can find this by opening Bottom Quick Settings in the app list in the Settings app.

Q

Unfortunately it seems like some device manufacturers have changed the way that these settings work. I am looking for a solution to this problem

Q

For some reason Google hasn't synced your purchase yet.

It usually fixes itself after you update your apps in the Play Store by: Tapping the account button at the top right, then tapping 'Manage apps and device', then either updating your apps or tapping 'All apps up to date' and then tapping 'Check for updates'.

Q

You can try moving the Handle to the right/left of the screen and also increasing its height.

If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the app and granting the required permissions again.

If you are using a navigation gestures app or an app hide the navigation bar, this is an issue with that app you used. Please contact the developer of the app you used with your issue.

Q

If you havent already, try going through the steps here.

If that doesn't work, in the app go into 'Tiles' > 'Tile toggle method' and select 'Normal'

Q

Try downloading and using the latest version of Minimal ADB here instead: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 . This forum provides a simpler setup process and some extra instructions to help you.

If you are getting a SecurityException grantRuntimePermission error and are using MIUI, make sure all options for USB debugging are enabled (specifically 'USB debugging (Security Settings)'

Q

Restarting your device should fix this. If it doesn't, try reinstalling the app.

Q

In the app, go to 'Notifications' and enable the 'MIUI notification fix' option. This will fix overlapping notification text.

Q

Unfortunately, due to Android restrictions, it is not possible to toggle some 3rd party tiles.

Q

The main differences can be seen in the Play Store screenshots. MIUI-ify is cleaner and easier to use and follows the MIUI style. Bottom Quick Settings follows the style of Android P/Q

Q

This appears to be a bug with Android.

A workaround is to go into the 'Handle' settings and disable the 'Hide handle when keyboard open' option. This will mean the handle shows while the keyboard is open, but it will fix the issues in apps such as Textra SMS and Telegram

Q

Unfortunately Spotify recently released an update to their app which broke this functionality. I am trying to find a way to fix it, but it may no longer be possible.

It is difficult to support media controls for every application, but you can always play/pause music from the notification above the panel while playing music

Q

Long press the notification to hide it

Q

It isn't possible to change the brightness while auto brightness is enabled because of a 'private secure setting' restriction that can't be changed from a 3rd party app

Q

The reason this happens is because the slider is changed so that the lower values are spread out over a larger range. This makes the brightness change for dim to full more linear.

This is not an issue and therefore cant be fixed.

Try Google Opinion Rewards. It allows you to earn Play Store credit which you can spend on apps.
